LESSON SCHEDULING
Regular online tutoring sessions will take place on the same day at the same time each week. If you need to reschedule a session, please email missdoritutoring@gmail.com or text/WhatsApp 416-716-1044 with your request. Rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the original session.
CANCELLATION POLICY
-
At least 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. No charge will apply if sufficient notice is given.
-
No-shows and same-day cancellations will be charged in full.
-
Rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in full charges for both the original and new session.
LATE APPOINTMENTS
-
Sessions will start and end at the scheduled time. If a student is late, the session will still end at the usual time.
-
If I am ever late for any reason, I will make up the time.
COMMUNICATION
-
While I do not provide feedback after every session, I will notify parents if I notice any concerns or issues.
-
If you would like an update on your child’s progress, you are welcome to email, text, or WhatsApp me.
-
Please note that I am often in back-to-back Zoom sessions and may not be able to answer phone calls immediately. I strive to respond to all messages within 48 hours.
REMINDERS
Parents and students can receive email reminders the day before and text reminders one hour before each lesson. We recommend both parents and students opt in.
Students should use the text reminder to:
✔️ Send homework in advance
✔️ Ensure devices are fully charged
✔️ Get organized before tutoring
HOMEWORK
If a student needs help with homework, they must send it in advance, ideally a day or two before the session. This allows me to prepare and ensures we can use lesson time effectively.
Students can send homework in the following ways:
📌 Bitpaper (preferred)
📌 Email: missdoritutoring@gmail.com
📌 WhatsApp/Text: 416-716-1044
LINKS & TECHNOLOGY
ZOOM & WHITEBOARD LINKS
Each student is assigned a consistent Zoom link and an online whiteboard (Bitpaper) for tutoring sessions. Bitpaper allows students to keep a record of our work and review notes between lessons.
✅ Please bookmark these links for easy access. They will be provided before your child’s first session.
WRITING TABLET (Highly recommended)
Using an iPad or electronic writing tablet (e.g., Wacom, Veikk, Huion, XP-Pen, or a touch-screen laptop with a pen) makes online tutoring smoother and more interactive.
CALCULATOR
For high school math, I recommend one of the following:
📌 CASIO fx-115ES Plus2 - 2nd Ed
📌 CASIO fx-991ES Plus C - 2nd Ed (Canada)
📌 TI-84 PLUS CE

PAYMENT OPTIONS
✅ Option 1: Interac e-Transfer (Canada only)

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Students are expected to:
✅ Submit work early. If a teacher assigns homework on Friday and tutoring is on Sunday, it should be sent by Friday after school—not last-minute.
✅ Work in a well-lit room and sit at a proper desk or dining table (not a bed).
✅ Keep cameras and microphones on unless a prior arrangement has been made.
✅ Participate actively. Tutoring is interactive, and engagement is required.
✅ Have all materials ready before the session starts, including a calculator (not phone calculator), laptop, iPad, textbook, homework, pencil and paper, and a writing tablet.
✅ Log into Bitpaper and Zoom at least 5 minutes before the session starts. The same links are used every week.
✅ IMPORTANT: It is the student’s responsibility to obtain parental permission before adding or extending sessions. If the student requests extra sessions, we assume the parent has pre-authorized it. If this is not okay, you must inform us in writing that we are not to add or extend sessions.
WHAT TO EXPECT & NEXT STEPS
MY PROMISE TO YOU
I value every student and family I work with. My goal is to improve math confidence and inspire students to enjoy math more than when we first meet. Parents often notice:
✔️ Higher confidence in math
✔️ Better grades & test scores
✔️ Less “I hate math” & more “That was actually kinda fun!”
REFERRALS & TESTIMONIALS
Miss Dori Tutoring is built on referrals. If you know someone who would benefit from tutoring, please pass on my information!
💡 Referral Bonus: If a new student signs up based on your referral, you’ll receive 50% off one future lesson as a thank-you!
💡 Another way to support small businesses like mine is to leave a 5-star Google Review at: tinyurl.com/MissDori (Greatly appreciated!)
